Circuits
A circuit is a top layer that groups related tournaments together and allows them to be read as a series, season, or competitive tour. It does not replace the tournament nor does it contain independent sessions.
What groups
- Tournaments that share organization, territory, format, season or purpose.
- Events that individually preserve their participants, rounds, matches and results.
- A recurring competitive story that can continue across multiple dates.
What does it contribute
- Navigation between the series tournaments.
- Joint reading of seasons, classics or recurring tours.
- Ranking filters that take matches from the tournaments belonging to the circuit.
Correct hierarchy: the circuit groups tournaments; the tournament organizes rounds; rounds contain matches. The independent session is another type of event, parallel to the tournament, and directly organizes its matches without using rounds.
