Common platform interface
Smartdomino tries to make the entire platform feel like the same workspace. Even if you change from tournament to round, from round to match or from profile to ranking, the idea is that you don't have to learn a new screen every time. This helps a lot for players, clubs, control personnel and administrators.
The same working language
Cards, lists, action bars, states and context menus follow a similar logic. That makes the platform easier to use when the event gets complicated.
Reading and administration coexist
The same screen can be used to observe, compare and, when the profile has permissions, intervene. The idea is not to separate query and operation too much, but rather to allow passing from one to the other without losing context.
Hierarchy before noise
The platform tries to make clear what is main information, what is detail, what is the next step and what action corresponds to the operational moment.
Listings
Listings are the backbone of the platform. There, profiles, members, tournaments, sessions, rounds, matches, requests, invitations and rankings are reviewed. That's why Smartdomino maintains two base readings: cards and list.
Cards
They serve to orient yourself quickly, recognize states, see identity and detect important elements without depending on a dense table. They are especially comfortable on mobile or general reading.
List
Concentrates comparison, selection and administrative work. It is the natural view when you have to review many elements, apply mass actions or edit data in a controlled way.
Same entity, two densities
Switching from cards to list does not change the meaning of the space. Change the reading density and the type of task that should be done at that moment.
The three bars of a functional list
Modern listings follow a stable hierarchy. Below the title, three sister surfaces appear, when applicable: quick filter bar, smart bar and administrative bar. They share visual language, but each one answers a different question.
Quick Filter Bar
To change the universe
Offers the most frequently used separations. In events such as tournaments and sessions use In Progress, Upcoming and Finalizados; Other entities can retain scopes such as Active, Mine, or Everyone.
To search without losing context
May include a compact search. When applied, it preserves the stage, view, order, filters and relevant context of the list instead of restarting the navigation.
Quick filters are applied immediately because they represent clear and exclusive destinations. In Tournaments and Sessions they must not hide a personal relationship: I participated, I organized or I managed are explicitly chosen in the advanced panel.
Smart Bar
Is the structural reading and command surface of the list. Summarizes the set with relevant counters—such as Total or other high-value indicators—and groups controls that change how information is presented:
- Order: defines the functional or official criteria of the list.
- Columns: allows you to choose optional data when the list view supports it.
- View mode: toggles between cards and list without changing the queried set.
- Filters: opens the advanced panel to build a more precise query.
Administrative bar
Appears when the profile has the capacity to manage the set. It does not replace the smart bar: it adds operation on the records and adapts its controls to the view mode.
In list view
- Shows selected counter and control to mark or unmark.
- Enables actual bulk actions on the persisted selection.
- You can activate Edit listing, Save changes and exit editing mode.
- Places the context menu as the last visible control, at the far right.
In cards view
- You can retain global actions that do not depend on selection.
- Does not show checkboxes, selected counter or mass actions.
- Does not activate online editing within the cards.
- Individual actions remain on the card or its context menu.
Sister bars in a manageable list
The Figure Interface 1 allows recognizing the three responsibilities without confusing reading, presentation and administration.
Filters
Filters are not a minor detail. They are used to convert a large screen into a specific work view: a round, a group of matches, a state, a membership relationship, or a subset of profiles.
Filters to navigate
They help separate the urgent from the accessory. In an active tournament, for example, they allow you to isolate the current round, pending matches or requests that still require a response.
Filters to resume work
When the interface preserves filters, order and view well, the user can return to an already constructed query without starting from scratch. This is especially useful in continuous operation.
In many spaces the platform combines structural filters, operational filters and visible reading filters. This combination allows the same list to serve clubs, players and administrators at the same time without losing clarity.
Current experience reinforces two rules of thumb. First, the list must express the visible subset: in events through In Progress, Upcoming and Finalized, and in other entities through the corresponding scope. Second, advanced filters are applied in a manual manner: the user combines options and executes the query by using Apply Filters; Clear filters resets that composition.
Order and columns
Ordering and displaying columns is not just a visual matter. It changes the way you read information and decide about it.
Main order
It helps to respect the main way of reading that space: the most recent, the most active, the best positioned or the official criteria that governs that view.
Exploratory order
Allows you to investigate without changing the general meaning of the set. It is very useful for administrators who need to check specific data without losing the global reading.
Optional columns
The list view can show denser columns when it is convenient to compare. This helps adapt the reading to the task without breaking the base structure of the platform.
Expanded view and rhythm
Not all screens request the same intensity. Some work better as a quick board and others require more concentration, for example a round in play, a match or an operational panel.
Blocks with focus
When a view needs continuous monitoring, the platform tries to give more weight to the main content and reduce what competes for attention.
Contextual help and empty states
Badges with hover, supporting texts, and descriptive empty states help the interface explain what's happening and what to do, rather than leaving a silent or ambiguous screen.
This also applies to navigation. The side menu, the central menu and the mobile version maintain the same main entities; The stage, scope and relationship with the profile are resolved within the list with visible controls, without duplicating menus.
