Group occurs before sorting
Grouping divides active competitors into sets. Afterwards, the order criterion organizes the members within each group. Choosing a grouping changes the universe of possible crossings; it is not equivalent to ordering the visual list.
Ungrouped
All competitors remain in the general group. It is the appropriate option when any participant can share the same order and assembly process.
Manual
Respect the groups assigned by the organization. Competitors without a group receive an available group so as not to accidentally get mixed up with an already defined assignment. Use it when the draw, seeding, or an external sporting decision determines the blocks.
ELO
Distributes by configured ELO ranges. The initial ranges of the system separate 800–1200, 1200–1500 and 1500–2000. Check the limits of your competition: a value that does not fall into any range remains in the general group.
Position on the Team
Groups by the player's internal position. It is mandatory in Four-player team 1 and Four-player team 2, where equivalent positions from different teams are sought.
Sex
Groups by the sex value registered in the competitor. It should only be used when this information is complete and is an explicit part of the event regulations.
Country
Group by profile country. It can be used to separate delegations or build national stages before more open crossings.
Recommended checks
- Check how many competitors are left in each group.
- Confirms that each group allows complete tables to be formed according to the format.
- Avoid overlapping or gap ranks when grouping by ELO.
- Remember that the format can set the grouping and block its editing.
