Use this procedure to define the sports evidence, calculate the ranking and locate players without confusing calculation filters with Result filters.
Objective
Answer a specific sports question and understand which matches, events and players support the displayed positions.
Before starting
- Define the period, event or group of players you want to analyze.
- Remember that only validated matches from finished events can contribute statistics.
- Open Ranking, ELO, statistics and indicators if you need the conceptual explanation.
Step 1. Define the matches
Open Filters and use the Matches tab. Select organization, format, circuit, tournament, session, origin or start date. These fields choose the evidence used for the calculation.
Step 2. Filter through participants
Open Players. Use country, sex or player organization to keep matches with at least one participant who meets the conditions. Select one or two specific players when you need their presence, partnership or opposition to be mandatory.
Step 3. Apply and review the counters
Apply the filters. Check how many matches and finished events were used and how many player rows were calculated. The Matches counter opens the exact evidence list with the calculation filters preserved.
Step 4. Locate positions
Use Results to search by name or official ID, select players to display or apply minimum JJ, JG or ELO. These controls reduce visible rows but preserve every position assigned during calculation.
Expected result
You can explain which matches produced the ranking, which participant conditions restricted them and why a player keeps the same position while Result filters are used.
Warnings
- Do not compare positions calculated from different evidence sets as if they belonged to the same ranking.
- Correct invalid source results in the match; do not try to repair them by filtering the ranking.
- If the match list contains filters the ranking cannot reproduce, the Show Ranking action is not displayed.
