Tournament formats

Choose the correct competitive unit and understand how each format builds tables, pairs and matchups.

Mode governs configuration

The format is not a decorative tag: it defines what the competitive unit is, what structure must exist before creating the round, and what form fields are displayed, locked, or auto-completed. Select it before adjusting grouping, order and pairings.

Individual

The main ranking belongs to the player. The system orders the active players, takes them four by four and forms the table pairs as 1 with 3 against 2 with 4. Absences and penalties are read individually.

Per Pair

The pair is stable during the tournament and constitutes the competitive unit. There must be active pairs before generating the round. The system orders and confronts these pairs without reconstructing their members at each stage.

By Team

The collective result belongs to the team. A matchup between two teams can produce several simultaneous tables. The configuration can define how many pairs make up each team, how the internal positions are updated and how the members of the pairs rotate.

Four-player team 1

Work with teams and mix players from different teams at each table. Use two pairs per team and the grouping “Position on the Team”. It seeks to bring together equivalent positions without repeating the same team within the table; then form 1 with 3 against 2 with 4.

Four-player team 2

Also uses teams, two pairs per team and “Team Position”, but prioritizes the team's position in the tournament first and then the internal position of its players. It is useful to face equivalent ranks between teams close in the standings.

Individual by Team

The standings is still individual, but the team structure is preserved to control groups and crossovers. The setup considers group, position within the team and team position, and allows you to configure matchup rules to better distribute the confrontations.

Before creating a round

  • Confirms that there are active players.
  • In “By Pair”, confirm active pairs.
  • In team formats, confirm teams and their internal structure.
  • Checks the fields that the format set automatically; a locked field expresses a rule, not a form error.
